  • Firefly Aerospace is the next private rocket company that aims to achieve orbit with its second launch attempt of their brand new Alpha launch vehicle. Alpha will lift off from Vandenberg Space Force Base, USA, and targets a 300 km low Earth orbit (LEO), in which it will deploy multiple payloads. On board of the FLTA002 To The Black mission will be multiple CubeSats and PicoSats, with most of them being copies of satellites that were lost during the failure of Firefly’s FLTA001 DREAM launch.

The problem with rushing ahead with rapid development is that your betting nothing will ever go wrong. Even a dangerous rocket can have a success launch.

Not a fan of the flashing blinking everyday astronaut but love your videos. Thank you for having your day showing us the proposed launch. Better for them to be safe than sorry. Also, still wearing the F1 shirt and still getting questions and comments when I wear it out. Of all my Tshirts, it is the one that gets the most attention. Its amazing how many people know what the F1 is. Be safe and be kind.

Our company worked on the solid copper rocket bells adding a ring of holes on a tangent to interior angles on the nozzles!! There is some amazing machining on those bells forming a path for the fuel to flow back and forth cooling the bells so they don't melt!!!. It was truly impressive!!

I would rather wait and have them fix existing issues then have them continue on with the launch. They made a smart decision although disappointing.

Waiting is always better. Remember the space shuttle when they pushed it too hard to meet schedule.

You launch when you're ready, and not one second sooner.

Nowadays it looks like only SpaceX knows how to launch a rocket, all competitors keep scrubbing theirs.
